What Is Safety Line?

It is important for you to know that your employees who are working alone are all safe. Depending on where you are located, it may be the law. Even if the law does not require that of you, it is important you know that they are OK just from a liability perspective. Moreover, you can be a considerate employer by providing a comfort level of security to employees that frequently encounter risky, violent or dangerous situations while on the job.

Unlike humans, SafetyLine never forgets about your field workers. SafetyLine is a fully integrated and automated voice and data system. It answers multiple phone lines simultaneously while receiving information over the Internet. It is an information workhorse because it can handle all of your communications with your field personnel. An operator or monitor does not need to do ANYTHING with SafetyLine until a problem occurs. Best of all, you can use all of your existing communications equipment with SafetyLine. There is NO NEED to buy new computers, cell phones or other devices.

If SafetyLine declares an emergency, it carefully walks the operator through your company’s safety protocol. SafetyLine is persistent about ensuring that the designated operator is notified when someone in the field cannot report due to a problem. SafetyLine will phone, email and or page any number of remote monitors to report an emergency. In addition to notifying the operator and monitors, SafetyLine will phone, email and or page remote employees to get an overdue report from them automatically without human intervention. SafetyLine will also attempt to contact the employee that has failed to report.

Tsunami’s SafetyLine does the job for you. It can save you a bundle over how you are providing this service today. SafetyLine works for all sizes of business. It will help you comply with laws and regulations. You can purchase the system outright or you can subscribe to our service for a small fee and never concern yourself with installation and ongoing operations. We help you free up your employees to focus on the work that they were hired to do - your business.

How It Works <Back To Top>
The Worker:
• Workers log into SafetyLine at the beginning of each shift, check in throughout the shift and log off at the end of the shift.
• They can access SafetyLine from any device, which allows them to make a telephone call. Including: satellite, cellular, office, and pay phones, as well as two-way radios with a telephone interconnect.
• SafetyLine is also accessible from any Internet capable device or computer, as well as the new Web enabled cellular phones.
• When workers check into SafetyLine they can report information such as their location and activities or simply report that they are okay.
• Workers can leave information in a variety of forms such as voice messages, GPS positions, job numbers, and zone or section numbers.

The Operator:
• The operator is the person or persons responsible to respond in the event of an emergency.
• The operator has only two simple requirements. 1) To provide his or her name to SafetyLine, indicating that they wish to be notified in the event of an emergency. 2) To be available to respond in the event of an emergency.
• This allows the operator to perform their regular duties while SafetyLine monitors the workers.

The Emergency:
• SafetyLine puts the worker into emergency status for one of two reasons. 1) The worker requested assistance, (can be done by pressing a pre-programmed “panic button” on their phone) 2) The worker failed to report that they were okay.
• When the worker fails to report on time SafetyLine will remind the worker with a phone call and an email. After a five minute grace period, the worker is automatically placed into a state of emergency.
• When an emergency occurs, each person who has provided their name to SafetyLine as an Operator will be alerted on their computer. In addition, SafetyLine will send out email reminders to any email capable device, including cellular phones, and also places voice phone calls to a list of contacts to alert someone to the emergency. This means that if a worker requires assistance, SafetyLine will continuously call a list of people until someone responds.

The Response:
• Once the operator has been alerted to the emergency, SafetyLine provides a variety of information on the worker in trouble, including: all reported locations, and activities, emergency contacts for this worker and how to reach them, worker specific information such as health conditions, vehicles, phone numbers and addresses
• SafetyLine also provides a list of emergency response protocol customized to each individual worker or group of workers. As the operator performs these actions, (e.g. 1) call worker, 2) call supervisor, etc.) SafetyLine records the name of the operator, the time and date that the actions were performed and any comments that were entered by the operator. This helps the employer to show due diligence.

Additional Features:
• SafetyLine’s report tool allows you to automatically create and print a variety of reports, including: Emergency reports, both by worker and time, Activity reports, both by worker and by time, Log on and off reports, and Job reports.
• SafetyLine can also be equipped with GPS mapping, automatically producing maps for a worker’s GPS coordinates.
• SafetyLine records all activities and events for future use, and the reporting tool makes accessing this information easy
